CII-Godrej
GBC
CII-Godrej
GBC was formally launched in March 2000 during President Clinton’s visit
to India. The Centre is a joint initiative of the Government of Andhra
Pradesh, the house of Godrej and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),
with the technical support from USAID- a unique model of public-private
partnership. GBC will be able to leverage the GDA partnership to garner
additional support from key Indian industries in their membership.
The
core objective of the CII-Godrej GBC is to make the world a better place
to live, by providing world-class 'green' services. CII-Godrej GBC will
promote 'green' concepts leading to higher efficiency, equitable growth
and sustainable development. In addition to providing services relating
to energy efficiency, green building, and green audits, CII-Godrej GBC
will provide a platform to showcase and demonstrate innovative 'green'
products and technologies. To further the reach of green products and
technologies, GBC will engage with New Ventures for Green Business Incubation
to help entrepreneurs develop green products until they reach the stage
of commercialization.
