The process in 2006 and 2007 was based on an annual cycle where the selected entrepreneurs were provided pro bono mentoring services and then given an opportunity to make a pitch to investors during the annual " Investor Forum" event. Whereas from this year 2008, NVI is accepting plans all through the year and the process is as following :

Identification :

New Ventures India announces a "Call for Business Plan" every quarter where it reaches out to entrepreneurs from the green sectors i.e. Clean Technology, Green Building Materials, Recycle / Reuse / Reduce, Advanced Water Technologies, Renewable Energy, Eco Tourism, Organic Agriculture, Energy Efficiency, Decentralized energy, Other Green Product Manufacturer's to apply to the program for funding support. NVI has various outreach methods through which it identifies sustainable at the same time profitable businesses to connect them with investors and markets.

Eligible companies must be :

  *  Registered in India as a for profit business

  *  Have operations based out of India

  *  Be legally structured to be able to receive equity investments

  *  Be seeking for investments above INR 50 lacs / USD 100,000


Due Diligence / Screening :

The identified entreprises are then sent to the screening committee that screens the business plans and carries out the due diligence.
The criteria for selection are as follows, the enterprise must be :

  *  Scalable

  *  Sustainable

  *  Profitable

  *  Environment Friendly

  *  Socially Responsible


Mentoring :

Once selected into the New Ventures India Portfolio, the enterprises will receive :

  *  Intensive business consulting services

  *  Business plan development

  *  Investor pitch presentation

  *  Connecting the enterprises with the Coaches Network Members


Our enterprise portfolio may receive ongoing benefits such as consultation with our extensive network of MBA programs.

Certain enterprises that do not require mentoring shall be directly connected with Investors.

Investment Support :

These mentored enterprises will then be connected with Green Investors Network members and some will be given an opportunity to present their business plan at our annual "Investor Forum".

Investment Facilitation Services :

The Investment Facilitation service provides a solutions-based approach to facilitation and management of investment in the enterprises. We play a key role in coordinating the investment process right from helping identify the right investor partner till the closure of the investment deal.
